SCS PACTOR Controller

A very robust narrow band DPSK mode for short wave applications enabling data transfer down to minus 18dB (!!) signal to noise ratio.
Even at maximum speed the occupied bandwidth (-50dB) maintains at less than 500 Hz, automatic frequency tracking.
In good conditions up to 6 times faster than compared to PACTOR-I and up to 30 times faster than AMTOR. Memory-ARQ enables error-free qso's at keyboard speed even when the signal is buried in noise.

SCS PTC2 pro PACTOR Controller

Multimode-Multiport-Controller for PACTOR-II, PACTOR-I, AMTOR, RTTY, CW, FAX, SSTV, Packet Radio 1K2/9K6 Bd.
ONE for ALL, PACTOR on short wave, Packet on V/UHF... Unparalleled capabilities, e. g. connect your own station at home from the vacation qth and link into the DL Packet net...

Three simultaneous COM ports available: Short wave and twice VHF/UHF Packet Radio. 32-bit System with DSP MOTOROLA 56303, 100 MHz processor speed and 30 MIPS throughput. Enormous flexibility because of two available Packet Modem slots for 1200 and 9600 Baud.
Additional control port for transceiver control of Icom, Kenwood and Yaesu. Maximum available are 2 MB static RAM (battery backup) and maximum 32 MB dynamic RAM. EMC measures: Consequent blocking and filtering of all INputs and OUTputs. 6-layer PCBoard with integrated DC+ and DC- grounding area and compact SMD design. PTC-2ex

Latest member of PTC family. Affordable small version of PTC-IIpro. Identical functions and user interface, with the following differences:

• Only one port for Packet or Pactor, gateway ops not possible
• no CAT control
• without aplphanumeric display, but same LED tuning display

PTC-2usb

The latest PTC model with USB port. Ideal for modern computer without COM-port. The PTC-2usb includes CAT control and modem for PacketRadio. Only one internal modem port, so no gateway traffic possible. See table below.

TRXPTC

SCS TRXPTC Board

The TRXPTC is a modem board for installation into nearly any transceiver. The board offers three connector rows for internal cabling of the required signals. Externally the TRXPTC uses a Bluetooth connection to the computer (requires a Bluetooth interface in the computer).
The benefit of this solution is the reduced space requirements, no need to isntall an external modem. Additionally the Bluetooth connection offers the best flexibility and convenience when using the system.
The TRXPTC supports all modes known from the traditional PTC: Pactor-1 and -2 (Pactor-3 requires an optional license upgrade), Amtor, RTTY, Packet Radio, PSK31 and many more. Futhermore the device supports CAT control of most transceivers, the connection to a NMEA capable GPS device etc. Size: 60 x 90mm.

PTC cables

For Pactor a Pactor audio cable is required. This cable carries the audio signals for Pactor and the PTT information. Frequency, band and mode is selected manually on the radio.

If you want to have the frequency and mode controlled automatically by the Pactor controller, an additional CAT cable is required. If the software you use supports CAT commands the Pactor operation becomes as easy as sending an e-mail: Just click on 'Send' (for example with Airmail/Winlink2000) and the software will set the transceiver to the required frequency. Then it tries to connect to a mailbox. If this fails anonther frequency is selected automatically and tried there.

For packet radio another cable between the PTC and the VHF/UHF radio is required.

We offer cables for some transceivers. Of course it is also possible to build these cables yourselves, the required connectors for the PTC are included.

RS232 to USB converter
